YOUR ARTIST BIO

Washington-based R&B artist Maria Carmen is a storyteller whose sound is constantly evolving as she continues to perfect her craft. Through her music, she writes with honesty about accountability, self-expression, love, toxicity, and the everyday experiences that listeners can see themselves in. Her latest project, Let’s Talk About It Later, captures the full spectrum of emotions she’s experienced since beginning her journey in music, creating a body of work that people can return to and connect with at different moments in their own lives.
Maria Carmen’s vision for her discography is to always provide that space—where listeners can feel her vulnerability, energy, and truth, no matter what they’re going through. Born and raised in the DMV, she spent time in Dallas, Texas, where she was nominated for Best R&B Song of the Year (2024), before returning to Maryland. There, she continues to grow her impact, including curating her annual showcase, Love Me All Around: A Women in R&B Experience, which highlights and uplifts women dominating the R&B scene in her community. For Maria Carmen, music is more than sound—it’s her most precious way of connecting to the world.
